TESCAN CoreTOM
The TESCAN CoreTOM combines in a single instrument the typical field of view of a medical CT system with the high-resolution imaging performance capabilities of laboratory micro-CT systems.

Core to Pore.
Capable of imaging full cores up to 1 meter (~3 ft) in length, down to mm-size micro-plugs or drill cuttings at 3-micrometer spatial resolution. This makes the TESCAN CoreTOM the ideal system for multiscale imaging from core to pore.
Faster to 3D.
Equipped with a high-powered microfocus X-ray source, the TESCAN CoreTOM enables high sample throughput and fast dynamic imaging with temporal resolutions below 10 seconds for a full 3D acquisition.

TURBIDITE SEDIMENT CORE
Non-destructive evaluation of grain size distribution
When sedimentary structures are present in cores, it is possible to reconstruct the orientation and flow direction with CT. However, if such sedimentary structures are not present, grain fabric and size analysis can reveal important information.
The resolution of medical CT is not sufficient to analyze grain sizes, thus there is a high demand for sediment core analysis to evaluate grain size in a non-destructive way.

A Portfolio of TESCAN Dynamic micro-CT Solutions
Is micro-scale non-destructive, 3D imaging compromised without meaningful temporal resolution capabilities? At TESCAN, we passionately believe it is. Consequently, all TESCAN micro-CT solutions are optimized for the highest possible temporal resolution capabilities. This, combined with either optimized spatial resolution, multiscale, or complex in-situ attributes, means that TESCAN brings dynamic CT capabilities to your lab without you having to compromise on any of the other, more traditional micro-CT attributes.
Meet Prof. Martine Wevers and Dr. Jeroen Soete of KU Leuven. They share how Dynamic micro-CT is indispensable for materials engineering and more.
