Insights into the role of porosity in lithium-ion battery electrode performance using TESCAN UniTOM HR micro-CT

 


In this study, we show how UniTOM HR can analyze the porosity of electrodes in the battery at the micron scale. This is especially important for cell design because porosity determines the amount of electrolyte, and the final electrode thickness, and it affects energy and power densities. All critical parameters for successful next-generation battery designs.
