Comprehensive 3D Micro-CT Analysis of a Sheep Femur

A powerful workflow combining acquisition, visualization and analysis of bone.

In this study, we present a highly effective workflow that combines high-contrast micro-CT imaging on an entire sheep femur, combined with trabecular analysis to obtain quantitative results with ease.

The ovine femur (thigh bone) was scanned in a TESCAN UniTOM XL micro-CT in a vertical position using a STAMINA (Stacked and Merged) mode: 5 aligned sub‐scans covering the entire femur length were acquired sequentially and stitched automatically.
